The dCAP certification is a public confirmation of both your theoretical and practical knowledge of Asterisk. The certification is taken using a specific released, stable version of Asterisk. The dCAP exam is normally offered at the end of the Asterisk Advanced training course. This course lasts for 5 days and the last afternoon is reserved for taking the test if delegates are taking it, or for additional labs and time for questions that are often related to your specific work or project ideas.
| The dCAP test consists of about 115 questions in a written exam concerning Asterisk and Asterisk-related technology, with the answers being selected from a multiple choice list. There is also a hands-on practical lab exam in which you are asked to configure a PBX according to a given specification. The pass mark is set high and ensures you will be amongst an elite of Asterisk professionals who have truly earned a sought after accreditation. |  |

To pass the dCAP exam, it is recommended that you have read ‘Asterisk: The Definitive Guide’ 4th Edition by O’Reilly, have actual working knowledge of setting up and maintaining an Asterisk server, have familiarity with the Asterisk sample configuration files, and have taken the Asterisk Advanced course. The price of a dCAP exam when taken at the end of the Asterisk Advanced training course is £350 + VAT where applicable. TeleSpeak is happy to organise the exam to be taken in isolation at another time, and the price for this is £500 + VAT. While the exam is usually conducted in the UK, it is sometimes run in mainland Europe, usually at the end of the Asterisk Advanced course.
