It is useful to be aware that there are also hybrid circuit boards that support 8 Ports of ISDN BRI as well as analogue and we call this a hybrid solution. The Digium unit has both ISDN and analogue in a single half-depth PCI or PCI-Express card slot. The Hx8 Series interface cards add a combination of EuroISDN BRI and analogue capability to your Asterisk solutions. Hx8 cards support up to eight connections, including analogue line (FXO) interfaces, analogue station (FXS) interfaces, and digital ISDN BRI interfaces. Additionally, there are voice compression circuit board options that will help reduce the bandwidth required for a number of the most common CODECs (Coder / Decoder).
